Autumn gives painters an irresistible combination of brilliant color, dramatic contrasts, and rapidly changing landscapes.

Learn how to capture fall foliage without trying to paint every leaf on every tree. We'll work with a carefully selected autumn palette and explore how to simplify masses of foliage, create depth, balance brilliant colors, and keep a landscape lively rather than overworked.

The same workshop will be offered Sat 10/2 and Sun 10/3, so choose the day that works best for you.

You'll learn:

- how to build an effective fall palette
- how to mix vibrant autumn colors
- how to simplify the landscape into larger shapes
- creating depth in a landscape
- balancing intense colors with quieter passages
- using expressive brushwork instead of painting individual leaves
